Before the first month of the 2015 ends, let me share my first cleaning accomplishment. I finally was able to tidy up our pantry. Woohoo! Cheers to me!

This is how it used to look like. Please don’t judge me. I know it looks bleh and I feel so embarrassed.
On the week I decided to do this, our household was stricken with flu like symptoms so I thought maybe I can procrastinate till next month. But the longer I wait, the harder for me to find things and the more food go to waste. And because I know that nothing is impossible for someone who is determined; I did it. Although it took me three days to finish, a little longer than I expected.
In organizing, my first rule is to find things that I already have. I gathered some transparent plastic shoe boxes, old plastic box (with the chevron design), stacking containers from the dollar store and an over-the-door shoe organizer.
I also made some labels out of chalkboard contact paper for the boxes. Then I arranged the stocks to different categories like meat canned goods, fruit canned goods, snacks-to-go, rice, soda, sauces and pasta. Now everything is in its right place and so much easier to find.
